THREAD: Looking for NAC gummy gift ideas - health pack for parent or fitness friend?Started by OP

Hey everyone! I'm trying to find a good gift - either a 'health pack' with multiple supplements or just specific gummies for either my aging dad (mid-70s, wants to stay active) OR my friend who's super into fitness (runs marathons, does crossfit). I keep hearing about NAC supplements being good for both groups? Any recommendations for brands that make NAC gummies? Looking for something that actually works, not just candy!

Ooh I can help with this! As someone who avoids sugar, make sure you check the labels carefully. Many gummies have SO much added sugar or corn syrup - defeats the purpose of a health supplement! I've tried the sugar-free NAC gummies from PureVitality - they use stevia and have a decent NAC dose (600mg per gummy). My mom takes them for lung health (she's a former smoker) and says she breathes easier. For fitness, NAC helps with glutathione production which is great for recovery!

Before you buy anything, check the packaging sustainability! Most gummy bottles are plastic that ends up in oceans. Look for brands using recycled materials or glass. Nature's Way has NAC gummies in recyclable containers, and they're third-party tested. For your dad, maybe pair with a mushroom complex gummy? Lions mane for cognitive health. Just avoid anything with palm oil - deforestation issues.

As a yoga instructor, I recommend NAC for both groups! It supports respiratory function (great for older adults AND athletes pushing their limits). My studio actually sells a 'breath support' pack with NAC, turmeric, and ginger gummies. For your fitness friend, NAC helps with exercise-induced oxidative stress - tell them to take it after workouts. Check if brands use gelatin (animal-based) or pectin (vegan) if that matters to them!

Thanks all! This is super helpful. I'll look for sugar-free options (good call FloraFinn121), check packaging (thanks PeakPaula), and maybe get that 'breath support' pack FloraFinn925 mentioned. Anyone have experience with the brand 'Vitality Boost'? They have a senior health pack with NAC, CoQ10, and vitamin D gummies that looks promising for my dad.
