My kid thinks NAC gummies are candy – help!

So today my 6-year-old found my NAC gummies (the orange ones) in the pantry and went to town before I caught him. He was like 'Daddy, these are the best fruit snacks ever!' and had about 5. Now I'm freaking out. He's fine, but what do I do? Is that dangerous? And how do I hide them better? I'm switching to a child-proof container ASAP.

Haha, classic! My kid did the same with my magnesium gummies – thought they were candy. Good news: NAC is pretty safe, even in higher doses. 5 gummies might be around 2500mg if they're 500mg each. That's not toxic, but he might have some stomach upset or diarrhea. Just keep an eye on him. And yeah, get a lockbox or keep them in the fridge (kids rarely look there). Also, check the label for any added vitamins that could cause issues in high doses.

Oh no! But honestly, how many kids *wouldn't* mistake those for candy? They're literally shaped like gummy bears. I keep mine in a high cabinet that requires a step stool, and I have a 'no reaching into mommy's cabinet' rule. But hey, on the bright side, at least he got a taste for antioxidants! Just watch for any signs of tummy trouble – if he starts vomiting or has severe diarrhea, call your pediatrician. But most likely he'll be fine.

Thanks for the reassurance guys. He's had a couple of loose stools but nothing crazy. I've moved them to the back of the top shelf in a locked ammo box I had. Now he's asking for 'candy' – I keep telling him those are 'big guy vitamins' and he can have them when he's bigger. He's not buying it. Any tips on making them less appealing? Maybe I should switch to capsules? I can't hide those in a jar of something else... but that's not safe either. Haha.
