My NAC gummies look weird - are they still safe to eat?

Hey everyone, I've been taking NAC gummies for a few months now but my latest batch looks off. They used to be soft and a light yellow color, but now they've turned darker and feel really hard. Some are even sticking together in the bottle. Has anyone else experienced this? Are they still safe to take or should I toss them?

As a mom, I'd say when in doubt, throw it out! I've had similar issues with other supplements - sometimes temperature changes or moisture can affect them. Did you store them somewhere humid or warm? Personally, I wouldn't risk it with something going into my body, especially if the texture changed that much. Better safe than sorry!

Ah, this takes me back! Reminds me of when I'd find old candy in my grandma's pantry that had turned into sugar rocks. What you're describing sounds like sugar bloom or crystallization - happens when moisture evaporates and sugar recrystallizes on the surface. Probably safe chemically, but might taste terrible. Check the expiration date and maybe contact the manufacturer?

Weekend warrior here who's dealt with supplement issues after leaving stuff in my gym bag. Hard gummies usually mean they dried out or got too hot. NAC is pretty stable, so the active ingredient is probably fine, but the texture change might mean they're less effective or taste awful. I'd contact the company for a replacement - most good brands will send you a new batch if there's quality issues.

Namaste! As a yoga instructor, I believe in listening to your body AND your supplements. If they don't look right to you, that's your intuition speaking. I had a similar issue with my turmeric gummies last year - they turned darker and clumped together. I stopped taking them and felt better about it. Maybe try a different brand or storage method? Keep them in a cool, dry place away from sunlight for optimal preservation!
