NAC gummies turned weird – safe to eat?
Hey everyone! I've been taking NAC gummies from a popular brand for a few months now, but the last bottle I opened looks totally different. The gummies are hard as rocks, have a white coating (sugar bloom?), and some are stuck together. They haven't expired yet according to the label. Are they still safe to consume? Has this happened to anyone else?
That sounds like sugar bloom or possibly moisture exposure. Usually it's not a safety issue but texture and potency might be off. If they're just hard and sugary, they're probably fine. But if you see mold or an off smell, toss 'em. I'd contact the brand too, they might replace it.
I've had that happen with my gummy vitamins when I stored them in a humid bathroom. Now I keep 'em in a cool, dark place. You could try putting them in a jar with a silica gel packet to dry them out a bit? But if they're rock hard, maybe just return them. Better safe than sorry.
Girl, that's a sign they're not fresh! I had the exact same issue with a batch of NAC gummies, and I emailed the company. They said it was a temp fluctuation during shipping. They sent me a new bottle, and the old ones I just used up in smoothies (they dissolved). So maybe try that? But trust your gut – if they look funky, don't risk it.
Thanks guys! I think I'll contact the brand. They don't smell bad, just look weird. I'll try the silica gel trick for future storage. Appreciate the help!
