NAC on sale at Costco - too good to be true?
So I was at Costco today and saw a big tub of NAC gummies for like $12.99, which is way cheaper than what I usually pay at GNC. I know NAC is great for detox and stuff, but does a lower price mean they're using cheaper ingredients or something? Or is this just a steal? Anyone tried these before?
Hey Ivy, I can't speak for the Costco ones specifically, but I've seen that brand at Target too. I'm vegan, so I always check the ingredients - some cheaper gummies use gelatin or artificial colors. But if it's a reputable brand, lower price might just be because they bought in bulk. I'd scan the label if you can. Also, just a heads up, NAC can interact with some meds, so maybe check with your doc if you're on anything.
I actually grabbed a bottle from Costco last week, tried them - taste pretty decent, not too sugary. I've been using NAC for a while and these seem to work just as well as the pricey ones. I did notice the serving size is 2 gummies instead of 1, so that's how they get the price down. Still a good deal if you ask me. Just make sure you're getting enough to match your usual dose.
Good points, thanks! I didn't think about the serving size. I'll check the label next time I'm there. Also, GreenGreg, good call on the vegan thing - I'll make sure they're not using gelatin. I think I'll grab a bottle and see how it goes. If they're not good, I can always return them to Costco, haha.
