Hey everyone, came across this study (PMID 12345678) suggesting NAC might help with oxidative stress and even support liver health. I'm a bit skeptical because it's from a supplement company-funded journal. Anyone else see this? Think it's worth trying for my joint pain?

Dan, I've been taking NAC for a couple months (doctor recommended) for my sinuses. I've read mixed stuff, but the studies I trust more are on PubMed. This one sounds like marketing fluff. But if you're thinking of trying it, just make sure to start low and check with your doc - especially if you're on meds.

Yeah, NAC is popular in the running community for recovery. I've seen some positive results but also know that studies are often biased. I look for 3rd party testing and real clinical trials. For me, I stick to whole foods first, then add supplements if needed. Also, be aware NAC can interact with nitrates - not good for heart health.

Honestly, I'd be cautious. The supplement industry is full of hype. I only buy brands that have independent lab results and avoid anything with added sugar or fillers. If you decide to try it, get one that's clean. But for joint pain, maybe consider natural anti-inflammatories like turmeric? Just a thought.

Thanks y'all. I'll check with my doc and look for a clean brand. Maybe I'll try the turmeric too, Olivia. Appreciate the advice!
