Hey all! I'm about to fly across the country and then go on a hiking trip. I take NAC gummies daily (vitamin shoppe brand) and I'm worried they'll melt in my carry-on or in my backpack during the heat. Does anyone have experience with these on a plane or outdoors? Also, are they TSA friendly? Do I need to keep them in the original bottle? Any storage tips appreciated!

Great question! I've traveled with gummies many times. First off, TSA doesn't really care about supplements, but keep them in the original bottle to avoid questions. They're not liquids, so you're good. Melting is a concern if you're in a hot car or direct sun. I use a small insulated pouch or even a thermos-type container. For hiking, I'd put them in a ziplock and keep them in an outer pocket where they're shaded. Also, they might get soft but usually survive if not extreme. Safe travels!

I travel a lot for work and keto. I've had gummies melt in my bag when I checked them, so I always carry them on now. I put them in a small hard case that you'd use for pills, and they've been fine. Also, if they get too hot they can clump together but still edible. I'd say just don't leave them in a hot car for hours. As for TSA, I've never had an issue – they're not gooey like liquids, so you're fine.

Can’t you just take the powder form? Gummies are full of sugar and other junk. But if you're set on gummies, maybe try to keep them cool with an ice pack if you have a cooler. I'm vegan and always check ingredients – some gummies have gelatin. Not sure about NAC ones. Anyway, I've heard of people using those insulated lunch bags; that should work.

I'm a parent and always have snacks with us. Once my kid left a gummy bear in the car and it turned into a blob. So I definitely recommend carrying them on and not checking them. Also, I've seen TSA agents ask about powders but not gummies. I just keep them in a clear bag. For hiking, maybe put them in a small tin or hard shell to prevent squishing. Also, if they do melt, you can put them in the fridge to harden up again. Good luck!
