Traveling with NAC Gummies – Will They Melt? TSA Tips?
Hey all! I'm about to fly cross-country and then go on a 3-day hike. I always take my NAC gummies for immune support, but I'm worried about them melting in my carry-on or backpack. Has anyone traveled with these? Do they hold up? Also, TSA rules? I'd rather not have them confiscated. Any storage tips would be awesome!
Hi there! Retired nurse here – I’ve flown with gummy vitamins many times. TSA is fine with them as long as they’re in original or labeled containers. I’d recommend keeping them in your carry-on because checked baggage can get really hot. For the hike, I put mine in a small insulated pouch with a cold pack. They’ll soften but shouldn’t fully melt unless it’s scorching. Also, if they do get sticky, you can refrigerate them when you get to your destination and they’ll firm up again!
From my yoga retreat travels, I’ve had gummies get a little squishy but never a total mess. I use a hard plastic container (like an old mint tin) to keep them from getting crushed. For the hike, try storing them in a cooler or wrap in a damp cloth – evaporation can keep them cool. TSA hasn’t ever given me trouble. Just don’t put them in a liquid baggie! 😄
Paleo guy here – I travel a lot for hiking and always bring my NAC gummies. Honestly, they can melt in hot cars or direct sun. My tip: put them in a small insulated lunch bag with a reusable ice pack. On the plane, keep them in your personal item under the seat. TSA doesn’t care about gummies. One time they got super sticky and I just put the jar in the fridge overnight – good as new. Have a great trip!
Thanks everyone! Insulated pouch with cold pack sounds like the way to go. I’ll keep them in my carry-on too. Good to know about the fridge trick if they get sticky. Appreciate the tips!
