Just read this article about having dessert and keeping it heart-healthy. It mentions adding omega-3s to desserts? Sounds like a win-win. Has anyone tried making desserts with chia seeds or flax? I'm curious if it actually tastes good.

Love this trend! I've been adding a spoonful of chia seeds to my yogurt bowls and sometimes make a chocolate avocado mousse - it's rich in omega-3s and tastes amazing. The key is to use ripe avocados and good cocoa. Your heart won't know what hit it!

I'm all for making desserts healthier, but let's not forget that the best omega-3 source is algae-based supplements. Chia seeds and flax are good but they have ALA, which the body converts poorly. If you're vegan, look for algal oil - that's the real deal. And yes, you can still enjoy a dessert like a fruit tart with a drizzle of walnut oil.

Okay, but can we make a dessert that's like a coffee-flavored energy bite with some omega-3? Need my caffeine fix and heart health in one. LOL. Seriously though, I'd be down for a mocha chia pudding.
