Hey all! Heading to Hawaii next week and want to bring my Omega-3 gummies. But I'm worried about them melting in my carry-on, and also TSA rules. Anyone have experience flying with these? Do they count as liquids? Should I keep them in original bottle or ziplock? And any tips for hiking in heat – I'm planning a day hike and don't want a gooey mess 😬

Yo! I travel a lot for meets and always chuck my gummies in my carry-on. They're solid, so TSA doesn't care. But for sure keep them in original bottle – you can show the label if they ask. And they don't melt easily, but I've had a few get soft in summer – so I put them in a zip bag and keep them in the outer pocket of my backpack (away from body heat). Honestly, they survived a 5-hour flight and a beach trip. You're good!

I second keeping original bottle. Also, some gummies contain gelatin, which can melt at higher temps. If you're worried, store them in a small cooler or insulated pouch. But honestly, unless you leave them in direct sun, they'll be fine. For hiking, I freeze a couple of water bottles to keep my bag cool – just don't let the gummies touch the ice pack directly or they'll get hard. And TSA only cares about liquids, so gummies are a breeze. Aloha!

I fast a lot and carry gummies for after my fast (but not for eating during). On planes, I always put them in my personal item not the bin – pressure changes can make them expand but not melt. I've actually had a bottle pop open! So I put a piece of tape around the lid. Also, TSA might pull them for a swab test if they're in original bottle and look like a lot – but just be chill and say 'they're vitamins' – been fine every time. For hot hikes, I use a mini protein bar wrap – the kind with a small ice pack – works like a charm.
