Hey all! I'm looking to get some gummy supplements as gifts. My dad is 70 and pretty healthy but I want to support his joints and heart. My best friend is a gym rat who's all about recovery and overall health. I was thinking of omega-3 gummies but there's so many options. Any recommendations? I'd prefer something that's potent but doesn't taste like fish. Thanks!

For your dad, look for omega-3s with high EPA/DHA – something like 500mg combined. But beware, many gummies have low doses. For your gym friend, check for added vitamin D or turmeric for inflammation. I'd recommend Nordic Naturals or Barleans – they have high potency and taste decent. Also, consider algae-based for sustainability if that's your thing. Your dad might also benefit from a multivitamin that includes omega-3, but it's okay to keep it separate.

I'd suggest looking into omega-3 gummies that are combined with other natural ingredients like ginger or Boswellia for joint support. For your dad, also consider aubrey's gummies – they have a 'Senior Wellness' blend with omega-3 and CoQ10. Your friend might like the 'Active Recovery' type. But honestly, the best is to get a high-quality fish oil that's been tested for purity – even if it's not a gummy. Gummies can be lower in dose. My dad takes a liquid one he adds to his smoothie. But if you insist on gummies, make sure the brand is reputable and third-party tested.

I'm a bit old-school, but I'd rather you give them a good old-fashioned fish oil capsule than those gummy things. But if you must, go for ones with natural flavors and no added sugar – they can have a lot of sugar, which isn't great for your dad if he's diabetic. For your friend, consider a gummy with added electrolytes for post-workout. But remember, gummies often have lower omega-3 levels, so they might need to take more. Check the label for serving size. Also, consult with a doc if your dad's on blood thinners – omega-3 can interact. Hope that helps!
