So I tried making my own omega-3 gummies with fish oil and gelatin, but they came out super gooey and won't set. Any tips? Should I use more gelatin or maybe agar? I used 2 tbsp gelatin for 1 cup of juice, but that didn't work.

Hey! Gelatin needs proper blooming and the right ratio. For a firm gummy, you want about 3-4 tbsp of gelatin per cup of liquid. Also, make sure to bloom it in cold water first, then heat slowly. And fish oil can prevent setting - try adding a little lecithin as an emulsifier. Good luck!

Maybe ditch the juice and use water or coconut oil? Simpler is better. I just mix gelatin with warm water and a bit of honey, then add oil. Works fine. And don't overheat - that ruins the gelatin.

I agree with adding lecithin! I usually use agar for a vegan option but it sets differently. If you want them to hold up at room temp, agar is more stable. But you need to boil it. Try 1 tsp agar powder per cup of liquid, simmer for a few minutes, then pour. Let me know how it goes!

Tech tip: get a candy thermometer! Temp control is key. Gelatin sets best at 120-130°F. And if you're using a mold, spray with oil to get them out easily. Also, consider using a silicon mold - easier release. P.S. I use a smart scale to weigh ingredients, way more accurate than spoons.
