THREAD: New article about Omega-3 and triglycerides - thoughts?Started by OP

Hey everyone, just saw this article and thought it was interesting for our Omega-3 discussions. Link: [Amarin Applauds Breakthroughs In Therapies For Patients With Elevated Triglycerides; Company’s VASCEPA®/VAZKEPA® (Icosapent Ethyl) Franchise Well Positioned To Benefit Globally From Broadened Category Commercialization]. They're talking about therapies for high triglycerides, and it mentions icosapent ethyl, which is a prescription Omega-3. What do you all think? Is this relevant to our gummy vitamin talks, or more for prescription stuff?

Thanks for sharing OP. As a busy professional, I skimmed the article between meetings. It seems like Amarin is highlighting clinical advancements for triglyceride management with their prescription product VASCEPA/VAZKEPA. While it's Omega-3 based, this is pharmaceutical-grade, not OTC gummies. Might be worth noting for those with serious health concerns, but for general wellness, I stick to my daily gummy Omega-3s for convenience. Anyone else see a gap between prescription and supplement use here?

Great topic OP! As a fitness pro, I focus on Omega-3s for inflammation and heart health. This article points to prescription options like icosapent ethyl for elevated triglycerides—common in metabolic issues. In my experience, diet and supplements like gummies can help, but severe cases might need meds. I'd say it's a reminder to get bloodwork done if you're concerned. For most folks here, quality gummies are a solid start. What's everyone's go-to brand for Omega-3 gummies? I mix in some fish oil capsules too for extra punch.
