New Omega-3 study: legit or biased?
Just read this study (PMID: 34567890) about omega-3s and heart health. It says they're not as effective as previously thought. What do you guys think? Is this study legit or just another hatchet job by the pharmaceutical industry?
Honestly, I'm skeptical of any study funded by big pharma. They want you to take their statins, not natural supplements. I've been vegan for 5 years and I get my omega-3s from algae oil. My blood work is perfect. This study probably used low-quality fish oil or something. Don't let it shake your faith in plant-based sources!
I don't give a crap about studies, man. I've been taking omega-3s for 10 years, maybe it's placebo but I feel better. Also, my doc said my triglycerides are down. But yeah, these studies flip-flop all the time. Coffee hasn't killed me yet, so I'll keep doing what I do.
True, Mike. But I'm trying to optimize. I want to know if I'm wasting money. Has anyone looked into the actual methodology? The study seems to use a specific dosage that might be too low. I might just up my dose and see.
