New study on Omega-3 gummies - legit or just hype?
Hey everyone, I just read this article about a new study (PMID: 12345678) claiming Omega-3 gummies might not absorb as well as fish oil capsules. As a grandparent giving these to my grandkids, I'm worried! Do you think this study is legit or is it biased? Here's the link: healthnews.com/omega3-gummy-absorption-study
Color me skeptical. Most supplement studies are funded by the companies selling the products. Did you check who funded this research? I've seen too many 'breakthrough' studies that magically support whatever the sponsor is selling. Unless it's independent research, I wouldn't trust it.
Why complicate things? Just eat real fish. I've been doing minimalist fitness for years - salmon twice a week, no supplements needed. All these studies just create confusion. If you want Omega-3s, get them from food. Problem solved.
Interesting find! As someone who travels constantly, gummies are my go-to since I can't always access fresh fish. I looked up the study - it was actually funded by a university, not a supplement company. The sample size seems decent (200 participants). Might be worth considering, but I'd wait for more research before panicking.
Thanks all! Nancy, good point about the funding - that does make me feel a bit better. Tom, I wish my grandkids would eat fish but they're picky eaters. Maybe I'll try half gummies, half actual fish meals and see how that goes. Appreciate the perspectives!
