Hey all, I just got some omega-3 gummies and I’m wondering if it’s cool to take them with my morning coffee. I read somewhere that caffeine might mess with absorption? I’m on a budget so I don’t wanna waste the gummies if it’s a no-go. Any science peeps or experienced ppl know?

Hey! Med student here. Generally, omega-3s (fish oil) and caffeine don’t have known negative interactions. Coffee can slightly reduce absorption of some nutrients, but omega-3s are fats so they’re pretty stable. Taking with food (like breakfast) helps absorption anyway. So I’d say it’s safe, just maybe not optimal if you take it on an empty stomach with just coffee. I usually take mine with a meal that has some fat.

I totally do this every morning lol. Coffee + omega-3 gummy + my kid’s meltdown. No issues so far, and I’ve been doing it for months. I figure if it was bad I’d know by now. But Mila prob has the science down. #sleepdeprivedlogic

Thanks you two! Mila, so if I have it with my oatmeal or a banana and peanut butter, that’s better? And Quinn, lmao hope your kid chills out soon. My wallet can’t handle more gummy experiments 😂

Yep, oatmeal with PB is perfect because the fat helps absorption. Bananas alone have almost no fat, so adding PB is smart. You’re good to go! Just don’t stress about timing too much—consistency matters more than perfection on a budget 🙂
