Omega-3 on sale at Costco - too good to be true?
Hey everyone! I'm on a tight budget and I found a big bottle of Omega-3 gummies at Costco for like 50% off. It's a brand I've never heard of (Nature's Truth?). I'm tempted, but I'm worried that such a low price means they're low quality or maybe even expired? Has anyone tried these? Is it a steal or should I pass?
Honestly, I've been buying the cheapo omega-3s from target for years and they work fine for me. I don't think price = quality in supplements. Just check the label for the amount of EPA and DHA. Some 'omega-3' gummies have barely any. If those numbers look decent, go for it. Also, check the expiration date, but Costco usually has good turnover.
I'd be careful with fish oil gummies - they can go rancid and taste nasty. But the sale price doesn't necessarily mean bad quality. Since you're at Costco, you can always return them if they're terrible. Just make sure they're not flavored with sugar alcohols or something that'll mess with your stomach. I'm keto, so I always check the carb count. If they fit your macros, grab 'em!
Thanks for the tips! I checked the label and they have 500mg EPA/DHA total, which doesn't sound too bad for a gummy. And the carbs are only 2g per serving, so that won't kill my diet. I think I'll give them a try. If they're gross, at least Costco has that awesome return policy. haha
Good call! And if you don't like them, you can always return them. I've even returned half-eaten bottles. No shame. Let us know how they taste!
