Zealand Pharma vs Amarin - what's the scoop?
Just saw this article comparing Zealand Pharma and Amarin. I'm a tech guy, but these pharma stocks are interesting. Anyone here follow them? #biotech
I'm more into natural remedies, not big pharma. But I know Amarin makes that fish oil pill, Vascepa. My doc wanted to put me on it, but I prefer eating wild salmon. How do these companies compare to just taking a good Omega-3 supplement? Seems like they're trying to sell you a prescription version of what we already get.
I've been keto for years and I'm all about Omega-3s. I've heard of Amarin, but Zealand Pharma? Not so much. They're into peptide stuff? Anyway, from what I've seen, Vascepa is for high triglycerides, not just general health. So it's not really apples to apples. But if you're looking for a good Omega-3 supplement, I'd say get a high-quality fish oil or algae oil. No need for a prescription unless you have a medical condition.
Ah, this takes me back. In the early 2000s, we were all about Omega-3s and there was this big debate about prescription vs OTC. I remember when Lovaza came out. It was a big deal. Anyway, I think it's important to look at the actual studies. Amarin's REDUCE-IT trial was pretty impressive. But Zealand Pharma? I'm not sure what they have in the omega-3 space. They might be more about other things. Also, don't forget to check the side effects and interactions. I always say, do your own research.
Thanks guys! So it seems like the comparison might not be straightforward. I'll read the article more carefully. Maybe it's about overall pharma, not just omega-3. I appreciate the input. #learning
