Hey all! I tried making my own gummies with gelatin and a vitamin C powder, but they came out gritty and the powder didn't dissolve. Any tips? I used 1 Tbsp gelatin, 1/2 cup juice, and 1 tsp powder.

Gritty texture usually means the powder wasn't fully hydrated. Try mixing the vitamin powder with a small amount of warm liquid first to make a paste, then add to the rest. Also, some powders need a little acid to dissolve - a splash of lemon juice might help!

I've had the same issue! What type of gelatin did you use? I switched to agar agar and that helped. Also, make sure you bloom the gelatin properly in cold water for 5-10 min before heating.

For my kids, I use a stick blender to mix the powder into the juice before adding gelatin. Also, try reducing the powder amount - too much can cause clumping. I do 1/2 tsp per 1/2 cup.

Some powders are just not meant for gummies. Check if your vitamin powder has anti-caking agents like silica - those won't dissolve. I use ascorbic acid powder (pure vitamin C) and it works great. Also, try adding a little honey or maple syrup to help bind.
