Hey all, just saw this study (PMID: 12345678) claiming magnesium glycinate is way better absorbed than oxide. But it was funded by a supplement company. Thoughts on whether it's legit or just marketing? 🤔

I've been using glycinate for a while and it seems to work better for my sleep. But I'm no scientist. The study design sounds dodgy if they only tested their own brand. Anyone know if there's independent research?

As a sleep-deprived parent of twins, I'll try anything. But I hate biased studies. Did the study compare equal amounts? Oxide is cheap but glycinate is expensive. I'd love to see a meta-analysis.

Exactly, Steve. The funded studies often cherry-pick. There's a Cochrane review that says oxide is fine for most people if taken with food. Glycinate might be better for sensitive stomachs though. Don't fall for hype.

I'll stick with my glycinate because it doesn't upset my stomach. But I get that it's pricier. Maybe for a general multivitamin, oxide is fine. Thanks for sharing, Quincy!
