Hey guys, I'm heading out on a road trip + some hiking next week and want to bring my gummy vitamins. Do these things melt in the car if it gets hot? Also, any issues with TSA if I fly later? Should I keep them in the original bottle or can I toss them in a ziplock? Thx!

I've taken my gummies on flights and road trips before! For TSA, I always keep them in the original bottle to avoid questions. They've never asked me about it. As for melting, I'd say avoid leaving them in a hot car. I once left mine in the glovebox during summer and they turned into a sticky blob. Not fun. If you're hiking, maybe put them in a cooler pack or insulated bag. Also, consider bringing a small container with a desiccant packet to keep them dry.

Ugh, I feel you. Traveling with kids means I’m always packing snacks and supplements. I second keeping them in the original bottle. For my last flight, I put the bottle in a Ziploc just in case of leaks (gummies can get sticky). They didn’t even glance at it. For heat, I’ve found that if you keep them in your carry-on or a cooler bag, they’re fine. Oh, and if they do melt, you can refrigerate them and they’ll kinda go back to normal - just a bit deformed.

If you want to be extra safe, you can vacuum seal them. That’ll protect from heat and moisture, plus it saves space. I also use a small thermos with a cooling pack for hiking - keeps them below 70°F for hours. And for TSA, I’ve never had an issue with gummies, even in a ziplock. It’s just vitamins. But if you’re paranoid, original bottle is foolproof.
