Are Prenatal Gummies Just Candy in Disguise?

I recently switched to prenatal gummies because I couldn't swallow the pills, but I'm concerned about the sugar. It feels like I'm eating candy every morning, not taking a supplement. Are there any low-sugar options that are still effective? Or should I just go back to pills and deal with it?

I remember when supplements were just pills and you didn't think twice. Now everything is gummies and it's like a treat. But hey, if it helps you take them, maybe it's fine? I used to forget my vitamins until I got gummies. The sugar is a small price for consistency, I guess.

I'm with you, @MindfulMila286. I'm a mom and I try to avoid giving my kids extra sugar, so why would I load up on it myself? I found a brand that uses monk fruit instead of sugar, but it's pricier. You might want to check the label for 'sugar-free' or natural sweeteners. Some even have no added sugar but use a bit of juice concentrate.

The 'candy-fication' of supplements is a real problem. Many gummies contain gelatin (animal-derived) and lots of sugar, which is ironic for a health product. I've switched to vegan gummies that use pectin and are sweetened with fruit juice, but still, the sugar is there. It's about moderation. If you need the gummies, just be mindful of your total sugar intake for the day.
