Flying with prenatal gummies - will they survive a hot plane?

Hey all! I'm going on a trip next week - flying to see family, then road trip and a day of hiking. I take prenatal gummies daily and don't want to skip. But I'm worried about them melting in my luggage or in the car. I also don't want to get stopped by TSA. Any tips? Should I just put them in a pill organizer or keep them in the original bottle?

Hi MamaBear! As a retired nurse, I've seen patients travel with meds all the time. First, TSA is totally fine with gummies - just keep them in their original labeled bottle to avoid questions. They might be considered a gel or liquid, but small amounts are allowed. For melting: they can soften if exposed to heat. I'd suggest using an insulated pouch or a small cooler pack for the flight (though check if it's allowed). Once you're at your destination, keep them in a ziplock bag in a cool place. And if they do melt, they'll still be effective, just might be a bit misshapen. Safe travels!

Oh! I've actually taken my gummies on a hike in the summer. They turned into a blob but I scooped them with my finger and still took them 😂. For road trips, I put them in a small mason jar and wrapped it in a damp cloth - evaporation keeps it cool. But for flying, I've never had an issue. Just keep them in your carry-on, separate from your other toiletries to make TSA easy. And pro tip: if they do melt, pop them in the fridge for a bit to firm up. Happy travels!

Hey, mama! I've been into holistic health for years, and I always carry my supplements. Gummies are usually fine, but to avoid melting, you can store them in a small, leak-proof container with a few grains of silica gel (like from a pill bottle) to absorb moisture. Also, try to carry them in a thermally insulated bag or even a small soft-sided lunch box with an ice pack, especially if you're hiking in the sun. And TSA-wise, keep them in original packaging, but if you have a prescription, it's always good to bring a copy of the label. Enjoy your trip!
