My toddler thinks my prenatal gummies are candy!

OK so I just started taking prenatal gummies (since my wife is pregnant and I'm supporting her). Anyway, I left the bottle on the counter for 2 seconds and my 3-year-old grabbed it and tried to open it. Good thing the child-proof cap worked. But he was SO upset and crying 'candy! candy!'. I had to hide them in a high cabinet. Anyone else have this problem? How do you keep them away from the little ones?

Ha! My kid used to do the same with my fiber gummies. He'd find them anywhere. What worked for me was to keep them in the fridge behind a bunch of veggie bags - not the most appetizing spot for him. Also, I made a point to tell him they're 'medicine for mommy' and he knows only mommy takes certain gummies. Good luck!

As a med student, I have to stress the importance of keeping ALL supplements, especially gummies, out of reach and in child-proof containers. Iron pills look like candy to kids and can be toxic. Consider locking them up or at least in a high cabinet. And educate your kid early - start calling them 'vitamins for mommy/daddy' and don't let them see you treating them as a treat.

I don't have kids but my husband once stole my prenatal gummies thinking they were just tasty vitamins and now takes them daily cause he thinks they give him energy. LOL. Now I hide them in a coffee tin - he won't touch that because he only drinks coffee, not gummies. But seriously, keep them out of sight and maybe get a cabinet lock if needed.
