Prenatal gummies for non-pregnant? What's the deal?

Just saw this article: 'Can You Take Prenatal Vitamins Without Being Pregnant?' It's a good question, I've seen people take them for hair and nail growth. But are they safe for non-pregnant folks? Anyone have thoughts? I've been taking them occasionally to boost my nutrient intake, but now I'm wondering if I should stop.

Honestly, unless you're deficient in something specific, you're likely overdoing it. Prenatal gummies are formulated with higher doses of certain nutrients like folate and iron, which can cause issues if you're not pregnant. I'd stick to a standard multivitamin. Plus, they taste like candy, easy to overeat. Just my 2 cents from a keto perspective – better to get nutrients from real food.

I get the appeal – I'm a guy, but I've heard women use them for hair growth. I'm not a doc, but I think the risk is low if you don't have any underlying conditions. But honestly, your body pees out excess water-soluble vitamins, so maybe not a big deal. Just don't take mega doses of fat-soluble ones like A and D. Moderation, folks.

I used to take them because I heard they're good for your nails and hair, but then my doctor said they're not necessary unless you're pregnant or planning to be. They're higher in certain nutrients that can build up. I switched to a good quality gummy multivitamin and added a separate folic acid supplement if needed. Better safe than sorry, right? Also, I'm a chef, so I prefer getting nutrients from food when possible.

Thanks for the input, guys. I've been taking them for a while, and I always feel a bit weird about it. I guess I'll stick to my regular gummy vitamins. I do like the hair benefits, but not worth the risk. Appreciate the advice!
