Sugar overload? Are prenatal gummies turning into candy?

Okay, I know I'm going to get flack for this, but has anyone else noticed how much sugar is in prenatal gummies?? I just compared a few brands and it's like 6-8g per serving. That's like eating a gummy bear! I'm all for making supplements palatable, but this is getting ridiculous. We're basically taking candy and pretending it's health food. What happened to just taking a pill? I'm switching to capsules, honestly.

I get where you're coming from, but honestly, I'd never remember to take a pill. Gummies are the only reason I've been consistent with my prenatal vitamins. Plus, they taste pretty good, which is a win when you're nauseous 24/7. But 8g of sugar does seem like a lot. Have you looked into any low-sugar options? I think some brands use sugar alcohols or natural sweeteners, but I'm not sure if they're as good.

Ugh, the sugar is a real concern for me too. I'm already struggling with my sweet tooth, and having these gummies is like a daily trigger. I tried leaving them in the cupboard, but I still end up wanting more. My doctor says the sugar is fine in moderation, but I'm not so sure. Does anyone know if the sugar content affects the absorption of the vitamins? I'd love to switch to a cleaner option if it exists.

I'm just a bystander here (my wife takes them), but from a nutrition perspective, sugar is really just empty calories. I get the convenience, but think about what you're putting into your body. If you're already eating a balanced diet, the vitamins are just a backup. Maybe check with your doc about a chewable tablet that's not coated in sugar? Or even better, get your nutrients from real food. I know it's not always easy, but it's worth the effort.
