Traveling with Prenatal Gummies: Melting, TSA, and Storage Tips?
Hey everyone! I'm heading on a week-long trip (plane + hiking) and I want to bring my prenatal gummies, but I'm worried about them melting in my bag or getting crushed. Also, do I need to worry about TSA with gummies? Any storage tips for hiking? Thanks!
I've traveled with gummies a lot. For TSA, they're fine in your carry-on - just keep them in the original bottle or a labeled container to avoid questions. For melting, they're usually ok unless it's super hot. But for hiking, I'd recommend putting them in a small pill organizer or a ziplock, and keep them in a cooler with your snacks. I've done that and they didn't melt. Also, you can freeze them before you go - they thaw fine.
I'm a grandma traveler, so I have a few tips! I always take my gummies in a carry-on with the label. But if you're going hiking in the heat, maybe consider taking them out of the bottle and putting them in a small reusable container. I've read that extreme heat can make them sticky, but they won't completely melt unless it's like 120F. Also, remember to keep them away from liquids in your bag - I once had a water bottle leak and my gummies got slimy. Not fun!
Thanks for the tips! Freezing them before I go seems smart. But does freezing affect the vitamins at all? I don't want to mess up the nutrients. Also, for the hiking part, I might just put them in a small container and wrap in a bandana - that should work, right?
Freezing is fine - the gummies are mostly sugar and gelatin, and the vitamins are stable. I've done it and they were good. And yes, a small container wrapped in a bandana is perfect for hiking. Just keep it in a pocket that's not too close to your body heat. Have a great trip!
