Hey everyone! I'm new to the probiotic gummy scene and I love starting my day with a cup of joe. Is it safe to pop a probiotic gummy with my coffee? Will the heat kill the good bugs? I don't want to waste my money. Also, any one else do this?

Great question! From what I've read, probiotics are sensitive to heat, but coffee isn't usually hot enough to kill them instantly if you take the gummy right after brewing. However, I'd wait a bit for the coffee to cool down or take the gummy with a glass of water first. Some studies suggest that the acidity of coffee might also affect viability, but it's probably fine for most strains. I do it sometimes and haven't had issues!

I dug into this a little. Most probiotic gummies contain spore-forming bacteria (like Bacillus coagulans) that are more heat and acid resistant. But if it's a non-spore strain like Lactobacillus, it's best to avoid hot drinks. Check the label to see what strains are in your gummy. Also, some people find that caffeine can interfere with gut health, so maybe separate them by 30 minutes. Just my two cents!

Thanks both! I'll check my bottle. It says "Lactobacillus acidophilus" so maybe I'll wait until after my coffee cools. Or just take it with water later. Appreciate the help!
