Hey all! I'm looking to buy some probiotic gummies as gifts – one for my dad who's 68 and has digestion issues, and another for my best friend who's obsessed with fitness and gut health. Any recommendations? I want something quality, not just any random brand. Thanks!

For your fitness friend, look for something with added prebiotics and a high CFU count. I use ActiGut Probiotic Gummies – they have 5 billion CFU and include fiber. My stomach feels great on long runs. For your dad, maybe a gentler formula like Culturelle? They have a gummy with just lactobacillus GG, which is well-studied. Avoid ones with added sugar if he's watching that.

Definitely check the sugar content! Many gummies are loaded with sugar. I'm a fan of Olly's Probiotic + Prebiotic, but they have 2g sugar per gummy. Or you could get a sugar-free brand like SmartBelly – they use stevia. For your dad, make sure it doesn't have xylitol if he has dogs, but we're talking about him, right? Ha. Also, consider if he's on antibiotics – then a probiotic with more strains is better.

Science alert! Look for strains like Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG and Bifidobacterium lactis – they have the most evidence for gut health. Also, check the expiration date for viability. I'd recommend Renew Life's Probiotic Gummies – they have 4 billion CFU and a good strain blend, and they taste decent. For your dad, maybe a lower dose is fine, like 2 billion CFU. And store them in a cool, dry place – heat kills the bacteria!

Wow, thanks for all the detailed advice! I'll look into these. I think I'll go with the ActiGut for my friend and maybe the Renew Life for my dad. But I'll double-check the sugar. Thanks again!
