Hey everyone! I tried making my own probiotic gummies at home using agar-agar (I'm vegan) and mixed in some probiotic powder. They turned out super sticky and never really set—just a gooey mess. I used 2 tbsp agar to 1 cup juice. Any tips? Maybe I need more agar or different technique?

Oh, I feel your pain! I've been making keto-friendly gummies with gelatin and they set like a dream. Gelatin is way more forgiving. Agar can be tricky—you have to boil it for a while and let it cool slowly. Try using 1 tbsp agar per cup and bring to a full boil for 2-3 mins. Also, probiotic powder might mess with the setting, so add it after cooling a bit.

Be careful with homemade gummies! I’m concerned about getting the right dosage of probiotics—too much can cause stomach issues. Also, are you sure your agar is fresh? Old agar loses gelling power. Maybe try a recipe with gelatin for firmer results, but check if it's vegan-friendly for you.

Thanks guys! EcoEllen, I'll try your method with longer boiling. DynamicDan, good point about dosage—I'm using a measured scoop. I'll check my agar's expiration date. If it fails again, I might just buy vegan gummies. Any brand recommendations?
