Just saw this article about Maura Higgins and her Birkin bag contents. Apparently she carries probiotic gummies in it. I mean, celebrities carrying gummies is nothing new, but does this actually do anything? Thoughts?

Probiotic gummies are mostly a marketing gimmick. The bacteria in gummies often don't survive stomach acid, and the doses are too low to be effective. If you want real probiotics, go for a quality refrigerated liquid or capsule. But hey, if she likes fancy candy, more power to her.

I actually make my own probiotic gummies at home with kombucha and gelatin! They're not as potent as a supplement but they're fun. And if Maura's carrying them, maybe it'll get more people talking about gut health. But I agree that for real benefits, you need a strong strain. Also, that bag is gorgeous though lol.

As a mom, I'm skeptical of anything that claims to be a health food but comes in gummy form. My kids think they're candy and want to eat the whole bottle. I have to keep them locked away. But celebrity endorsements don't mean much to me. I'll stick to my yogurt and fermented foods.

Thanks for the input! I guess the gummies might be more for convenience than function. Maybe she just likes the taste. Still, I'd love to snag that lip gloss though!
