Hi everyone! I bought a new bottle of probiotic gummies a month ago, and when I opened them today, they had turned a darker color and were super hard, almost like chewy candy. A few have a white powder on them, and some are stuck together. Has this happened to anyone else? Are they still safe to eat? I hate wasting money but don't want to get sick.

Yeah, that's sugar bloom, man. Happens to my electrolyte gummies when I leave them in my car after a run. They're fine, just a bit ugly. Texture change is from moisture or heat. Eat 'em, they'll just be harder. Your gut will thank you for the probiotics.

I've had this with my ACV gummies! I'm a nomad so they go through temp swings. Check the expiration – if it's still good, they're safe. The white powder is just sugar recrystallizing. But if they smell funky or taste rancid, toss 'em. I usually email the company, they sometimes replace.

Med student here. The color change could be oxidation or degradation of ingredients like antioxidants. Hardness is from moisture loss. The white powder is likely sugar bloom. As long as there's no mold (which you'd see as fuzzy green/black), they're likely safe but may have reduced potency. For probiotics, heat can kill them, so you might not get the full effect. Store in a cool, dark place next time.
