Took them for sleep, but my skin has never been better?!
So I started taking these probiotic gummies about a month ago to help with my sleep (since med school is a nightmare). I didn't really notice a huge difference in my sleep, but I did notice that my skin has cleared up like crazy. I've always had mild acne, but now my face looks clearer and more even. Anyone else experience this? It's like an unexpected bonus! 😂
Ha! I've heard probiotics can do wonders for your gut, but your skin is a direct reflection of your gut health. I've read some studies that link gut microbiome to skin conditions like acne and eczema. So it makes sense! But it's awesome that you're seeing a positive side effect. I take them for my digestion, and I've noticed my mood is more stable too. Maybe that's a coincidence, but I'll take it!
Interesting! I've been taking them for my overall immunity (since I'm always outdoors and want to avoid getting sick), but I've definitely noticed my skin is less dry, especially in winter. I'm not sure if it's the gummies or the extra water I've been drinking, but either way, win-win. Also, are you guys using a specific brand? I want to make sure mine is eco-friendly.
I'm using the 'Garden of Life' ones, they're plant-based and come in a glass jar. I think they're pretty eco-conscious, but I'm not 100% sure. Do you have any suggestions, MountainMike? I'm always looking for more sustainable options. But yeah, I guess the gut-skin connection is real! Maybe I'll start recommending these to my patients (not yet, but in the future). 😉
I've heard Garden of Life is good! I use Nature's Bounty, but I'm not sure about their eco cred. Also, I wanted to add: if you want to maximize the benefits, you should be consistent and also eat prebiotic foods like garlic and onions to feed the good bacteria. But double win on the skin, Jack! Maybe you can become a dermatologist too, lol.
