Traveling with Probiotic Gummies – Will they melt?
Hey everyone! I’m heading out on a cross-country road trip and then a hike in the desert. I always take my probiotic gummies but I’m worried they’ll melt in the car or my backpack. Also, are there TSA issues if I fly? Any tips for keeping them solid? I was thinking an insulated bag but not sure.
I’ve taken gummies on planes before – TSA didn’t bat an eye, just have them in your carry-on. For heat, I use a small cooling pouch with an ice pack. But for hiking, maybe get a collapsible cooler? Also, some gummies have a higher melting point, check the ingredients. If they do melt, you can refrigerate them to re-solidify, but they might stick together.
I use a temp-controlled pill bottle! It’s a gadget I got on Amazon – it has a small fan and cooling element, works off USB. Keeps my gummies perfect even in the car. Also, for TSA, I’ve never had issues. Just keep them in the original container if you want to be safe. But yeah, a cooler bag with ice packs works fine too.
Thanks for the tips! A temp-controlled bottle sounds awesome, RootRose. I’ll look into that. And good to know TSA doesn’t care. I think I’ll go with a small insulated bag for the car and a little cooler pack for hiking. Xenon, do you think they’ll be okay in checked luggage? I’m flying partway.
I’d avoid checked luggage – temperatures can get extreme in the cargo hold. Keep them in your carry-on where you can control the environment. Plus you have access to them if you need a snack on the plane 😉
