What's the best probiotic gummy for a 70yo dad and a gym rat friend?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to buy some probiotic gummies as gifts – one for my dad (70, pretty healthy but could use digestive support) and one for my bestie who's obsessed with fitness and gut health. I wanna get something effective but also tasty. Any recommendations? I've heard good things about Culturelle but also generic store brands. Budget isn't huge but I don't mind spending a bit more for quality.

For your dad, I'd go with something that has a higher CFU count and includes prebiotics too. Olly's Probiotic Gummies are pretty solid and easy on the stomach. I used to recommend them to patients when I was working. For your fitness friend, look for something with added vitamin D or zinc for immune support, like Garden of Life's Dr. Formulated Probiotics. They're organic and have a good variety of strains. Just make sure they're kept cool – probiotics are sensitive!

I second the Garden of Life for the friend! For your dad, maybe also consider the 'Renew Life' Ultimate Flora Gummies. They're gentle and have a nice berry flavor. I give them to my older yoga students who complain about bloating. Also, check if either of them has any allergies – some gummies use gelatin (not vegan) or have artificial sweeteners. Your dad might prefer a sugar-free option if he's watching sugar. And lol, make sure your friend doesn't already take a probiotic – you don't want to double up!

Thanks for the tips! Good point about double-ups, Holly. My friend does take a protein powder that might have probiotics – I'll check. Victor, I saw Olly has a 'Probiotic + Prebiotic' gummy – is that better than just probiotic alone? And yeah, my dad's not vegan so gelatin is fine. He's actually on blood thinners, so I should look out for vitamin K interactions, right? Any brands that are low in K?

@EcoEllen5 Yes, prebiotic + probiotic is often better because the prebiotic feeds the good bacteria. But for your dad, if he's on blood thinners, definitely avoid gummies with added vitamin K (phylloquinone). Check the label! Most probiotic gummies don't have much K, but some multi-strain ones might. The 'Culturelle Digestive Health' gummies are K-free and gentle. Also, start with a lower dose for your dad to see how tolerates it. Hope that helps!
