Help! My Kid Thinks Sea Moss Gummies Are Candy!
So my 6-year-old just found my stash of Sea Moss Gummies and thought they were gummy bears! He ate like 5 before I caught him. Now I'm worried about him getting too much iodine or something. Anyone else have this issue? How do you keep them out of reach or convince your kids they're not candy?
Ha! Classic. My wife thought the same thing and ate 4 one day. She was fine but now we keep them in a high cabinet. As for the kids, maybe try the texture thing - they have that weird jelly texture that kids might not like. My nephew spit one out because it felt 'slimy'.
I've had to hide mine from my dog, he goes crazy for the smell! But for kids, I usually break one in half and show them it's not a typical gummy - it's more like a jelly. And check the label for iodine content. Overdoing it isn't great, but a few won't hurt. Maybe store them in a jar that says 'supplements' in big letters.
Haha, I can relate! My niece tried mine and spit it out saying it 'tastes like the ocean'. Maybe that's a good thing - they won't want to eat them again! But seriously, keep them up high or in a locked cabinet. And while we're at it, have you noticed any difference in your energy? I love these for that.
Honestly, you should just not let kids near any supplements. And sea moss gummies are a waste of money IMO. Just eat real seaweed if you want the benefits. But for the safety side, you might want to call your pediatrician if he ate a lot. Better safe than sorry.
