Just saw a study about sea moss gummies - legit science or marketing hype?

Hey all, came across this study (PMID: 12345678) claiming sea moss gummies boost recovery and reduce inflammation. As someone who hits CrossFit 6x/week, I'm always looking for an edge. But the study was funded by a supplement company... Thoughts? Is this legit or just biased marketing?

Interesting find Pete! I'm more about the taste tbh - some sea moss gummies are gritty and ocean-y, others are sweet and chewy. But if the science is shaky, I'm not wasting my money. Did the study compare it to a placebo? And what about the dosage in typical gummies vs. what they tested?

Ooh, I've been making my own sea moss gel at home! From what I've read, a lot of studies on sea moss (Irish moss) focus on its carrageenan content, which can have mixed effects. The funding is a red flag for sure. Maybe check if there are independent studies? I trust peer-reviewed journals more than company-sponsored stuff.

As a marathon runner, I'm curious about the inflammation claims. But yeah, company-funded studies can be biased. Have you looked at the sample size and duration? Sometimes these studies are too short to show real-world benefits. Also, are the gummies you're looking at third-party tested? That matters more to me than one study.
