THREAD: My sea moss gummies look weird - are they still safe to eat?Started by OP

Hey everyone, I bought some sea moss gummies a few weeks ago and they were fine at first. Now they've changed color a bit (darker spots) and some are sticking together in the bottle. A few even feel kinda hard. Are these still safe to take? I don't want to waste them but also don't want to get sick. Has anyone else had this happen?

OP, I've had this happen with my pre-workout gummies too! Usually it's just sugar bloom or moisture changes. If they're just sticking together or have a white-ish coating, it's probably fine - just sugar crystallizing. But if they smell weird or have mold (fuzzy spots), toss them. I'd say if they're just hard/sticky, they're likely safe but might not taste great. Store them somewhere cool and dry next time!

As a parent, I'm extra cautious with supplements. My kids take gummy vitamins and I've seen texture changes when they're exposed to heat or humidity. Sea moss is natural and can be sensitive. If they've darkened significantly or have an off smell, I wouldn't risk it - especially with sea products. Maybe contact the manufacturer? They might replace them if it's a batch issue. Better safe than sorry with our families' health!

whoa, interesting timing! I just started meditating and being mindful about what I consume. My sea moss gummies did something similar last month. They got kinda tough and clumped up. I still took them for a week and felt fine, but my gut instinct said to stop. Listen to your body - if something feels off about them, maybe don't eat them. Or try one and see how you feel? But I'm no expert, just sharing my experience.

YogaYara makes a good point about contacting the company! I've had brands send replacements when my stuff looked off. And Vince - glad you're okay but yeah, trust your gut (literally lol). OP, check the expiration date too. Gummies don't last forever, especially natural ones. If they're past date or close, that could explain it. Let us know what you decide!
