Okay, I need to vent. I’ve been trying to get more sea moss into my diet for the health benefits, but I can’t stomach the gel. So I thought, ‘Hey, sea moss gummies sound easy!’ But then I looked at the label and holy sugar crash, Batman! The first ingredient is glucose syrup, then sugar, then ‘sea moss extract’ at like 50mg. That’s not a supplement, that’s a gummy bear with a fancy name. Are we really okay with this? I feel like I’m just paying for candy with a side of seaweed. What’s the point? I might as well eat a handful of Haribo and call it a day. Anyone else frustrated by this ‘candy-fication’ of supplements? Or am I just being a purist? Also, if you know of a brand that doesn’t have a ton of sugar, spill the tea. #SeaMoss #Supplements #SugarRant

OMG yes, I feel this. I tried sea moss gummies for a while because I’m always on the go and hate swallowing pills. But I noticed I was craving them like candy, which is a red flag. I switched to a powder I mix into my morning smoothie. It tastes like the ocean floor, but at least I know I’m not spiking my blood sugar. That said, I get why people like gummies—convenience is huge when you’re busy. But there’s a line between convenient and just plain junk. Maybe look for ones sweetened with stevia or monk fruit? They exist but are pricier. 🤷‍♀️

Hey Gigi, I totally get your frustration. As someone who leans holistic, I think the supplement industry has gone off the rails with these candy-like products. Sea moss is amazing, but when it’s doused in sugar and artificial flavors, it’s counterproductive. You’re better off getting the raw stuff and making your own gel. It’s a bit of work, but you can control what goes in. Plus, you can add it to soups or teas without even tasting it. If you must do gummies, check out brands that use real fruit and minimal sweeteners. But honestly, most commercial sea moss gummies are a joke. Just my two cents.

I’m a marathon runner and I’ve tried sea moss gummies for recovery. Yeah, the sugar content is high, but sometimes after a long run, I actually need those quick carbs. It’s all about context. If you’re sitting at a desk all day, then yeah, it’s candy. But for athletes, a little sugar isn’t the enemy. That said, I’d rather get my sea moss from a reputable powder and mix it with my electrolyte drink. More bang for your buck. But I won’t hate on gummies entirely—they have their place. Just don’t kid yourself that it’s a health food.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I guess I’m not alone. @PeakPaula776 I’ll look into stevia-sweetened ones, but I’m skeptical. @LemonLiam335 I think you’re right—making my own gel might be the way to go. @RhinoRich48 I see your point about athletes, but for the average joe, it’s just sugar overload. I just wish brands were more transparent. Anyway, if anyone has a brand they trust, let me know. Otherwise, I’m going back to the gel. Ugh.
