Hey everyone, I just opened a new bottle of sea moss gummies I bought two weeks ago, and they’ve turned a darker color and are super hard. Some even have white spots. Anyone know if this is mold or just sugar bloom? Are they still safe to eat? I don't want to waste them but also don't wanna get sick.

That sounds like sugar bloom to me. Happens when they get exposed to moisture or temp changes. I've eaten gummies like that and was fine. But if they smell funky, toss 'em.

Honestly, I wouldn't risk it. Supplements aren't regulated, so who knows what's in there. If they changed texture that much, the ingredients might have degraded. Better safe than sorry.

I agree with KetoKevin. White spots are usually just sugar crystallization. But if they're rock hard, they might be past their prime. Check the expiration date. I'd contact the manufacturer to be sure.

Former nurse here. Color and texture changes can indicate spoilage, but sea moss is naturally variable. If they look like mold (fuzzy, greenish) or smell off, discard. Sugar bloom is powdery and safe. When in doubt, throw it out.
