Hey all, first time trying to make my own shilajit gummies at home. I mixed the shilajit resin with some fruit juice and added gelatin, but they came out way too hard and kinda separated. Any tips on getting that chewable consistency? Should I use agar instead? Thanks!

Bro, I've been there. The key is to not overheat the gelatin mixture - if you boil it, it loses its gelling power. Also, you gotta add the shilajit after the gelatin is dissolved but before it sets. Maybe try low heat and stir constantly. Also, consider adding a bit of citric acid for flavor and to help set.

Ah, brings me back to my first batch! I used to buy those gummy kits but they were full of sugar. Now I use a silicone mold and I find that using a 1:1 ratio of water to gelatin (or maybe a bit more) gives that chewy texture. Also, if you want it vegan, agar works but it's trickier - you need to boil it for a minute and it sets firmer. I'd say keep at it, it's trial and error!

Vegan here! If you're using gelatin, you're missing out on all the ethical benefits. Switch to agar-agar, it's plant-based and actually gives a nice firm gummy. I've found that mixing agar with some tapioca starch helps get the chewiness. Also, don't forget to bloom the agar in cold water before heating. It's a bit of a learning curve but worth it for the animals.

Thanks everyone! I'll try the agar route since I have some. What temperature should I aim for? And if I add the shilajit too early, will it degrade the beneficial compounds? Want to make sure I'm not destroying the good stuff.
