Is this Shilajit study legit or just marketing fluff?

So I came across this study on Shilajit gummies (PMID: 34567890) claiming they boost testosterone and energy in men. Sounds too good to be true. Anyone else seen this? Is it just a paid promo or is there real science behind it? My husband is interested but I'm skeptical.

Hey Solar! I've seen that study! It's actually a peer-reviewed trial from a decent journal, but the sample size was small and it was funded by a supplement company. Classic conflict of interest. I'd take it with a grain of salt. That said, Shilajit has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for ages and has some promising preliminary research. Just make sure you buy from a brand that third-party tests and uses actual Shilajit extract, not the cheap stuff. My go-to is the one with 1000mg fulvic acid per serving.

Dude, I've been taking Shilajit gummies for 3 months now (the brand with the black jar). I can say my energy at work is way better, and I don't crash like before. Not sure about testosterone, didn't get bloodwork, but I feel more pumped at the gym. Maybe it's placebo, but I'll take it. For the price, it's not bad.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the input. I'll look for that third-party testing. My husband wants to try it, but I'm still a bit cautious. @AlphaAdam26, what brand are you using? And any side effects?

No side effects at all. I use the 'Himalayan Gold' brand, the gummies are tasty. Just remember to not take them late in the day, they might keep you up. But that's fine for us night shift workers, haha.
