THREAD: Shilajit Gummies - Anyone Actually Notice a Difference?Started by PurePete49

Hey all, saw these Shilajit gummies at my supplement shop next to the pre-workout. The label claims 'natural energy' and 'recovery support' - sounds perfect for my 5am Crossfit sessions. Has anyone tried them specifically for athletic performance? I'm skeptical about gummies vs. traditional powder, but if they actually help with DOMS, I'm willing to give them a shot. My current stack is creatine and BCAAs, wondering if these would complement or just be expensive candy.

PurePete49 - I've been experimenting with them in my kitchen! As an amateur chef, I'm always looking for functional ingredients. The taste is... interesting. Earthy with a hint of caramel, but the gummy format masks it better than raw resin. I've been taking one daily for about 3 weeks. Noticeable? Hard to say - maybe a slight boost in afternoon energy when I'm recipe testing. But for $40 a bottle, I expected more dramatic results. Has anyone tried pairing them with specific foods for better absorption?

Oh, I've been curious about these! As a granola parent, I prefer natural supplements over synthetic vitamins. Shilajit is mineral-rich from the Himalayas - my herbalist swears by it for overall vitality. I give my kids elderberry gummies, so this format appeals to me. But I'm concerned about heavy metal content since it's a natural resin. Does anyone know brands that do third-party testing? Also, has anyone noticed benefits for stress or sleep? My yoga practice helps, but if these support adrenal health, I might add them to our family's wellness routine.

Tech gadget lover here - I geek out on bioavailability data. These gummies supposedly have fulvic acid for better nutrient uptake. I've been tracking my energy levels with a wearable for 2 months (taking the gummies for the last month). Data shows a 12% improvement in recovery heart rate after workouts, but placebo effect is real. The convenience factor is huge - no messy powders or capsules. But YogaYara raises a good point: quality varies wildly. I only buy from companies with transparent lab reports. Anyone compared different brands? The price range is insane - $25 to $60 for similar-looking products.

Thanks for the input everyone. FuelFrank - that recovery heart rate data is intriguing! Maybe I'll do a 30-day trial and track my WOD times. SupplementSteve43 - what brand did you try? If the taste is tolerable, I might mix them into my post-workout smoothie. YogaYara - my sister uses a brand called 'Pure Himalayan' that has heavy metal testing on their site. Might be worth checking. Overall, sounds like they're not magic, but could be a decent addition if you find a reputable source. Anyone experience any side effects? My stomach can be sensitive to new supplements.

PurePete49 - I used 'Nature's Resin' brand. No stomach issues here, but I take them with food. Actually, I've started melting them into my morning oatmeal - gives it a subtle mineral flavor that works with maple syrup. YogaYara - for sleep, I haven't noticed changes, but my wife says she sleeps more deeply when she takes one in the evening (she's not into supplements usually). Maybe the magnesium content? Frank - totally agree on price variation being wild. I saw one brand at Whole Foods charging $55 for 30 gummies - feels predatory for what's essentially processed dirt. Maybe we should start a thread comparing lab results?
