Hey guys, I tried making my own sleep gummies with gelatin and melatonin powder, but they turned into a gooey mess! I used 1 tbsp gelatin, 1/2 cup juice, and 100mg melatonin. Heated too high? Any tips?

Vince, ditch the juice – sugar will ruin stability. Use sugar-free syrup or water. Also, bloom gelatin in cold liquid first. Agar works better for heat-sensitive stuff like melatonin. Try 1g agar per 100ml liquid, simmer 5 mins, then cool slightly before adding powder.

Bruh, 100mg melatonin? That's a lot. Start with 1-2mg per serving. For texture, add a tsp of lecithin – it helps emulsify. And don't let it boil, just low heat. Also, use silicone molds for easy release.

Thanks! I'll try agar and less melatonin. Rich, any specific brand of sugar-free syrup? Vince

I use Lakanto monkfruit syrup or just stevia drops. Keep the batch small first. And remember, agar sets firm but not as chewy as gelatin. Good luck!
