Hey everyone! I just came across this study about melatonin in sleep gummies: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12345678/ (not sure if links work). It claims that most gummies have way more melatonin than labeled, which is concerning. Do you think this is legit or just another anti-supplement scare? Curious to hear your thoughts.

Good find! I've seen similar reports before. Honestly, the supplement industry is not heavily regulated, so it wouldn't surprise me if some brands are off. But I also think you gotta look at who funded the study. If it's from a pharmaceutical company, they might have a bias against natural alternatives. Still, worth checking the brand you trust. I stick with well-known brands that have third-party testing.

That's scary! I've been making my own gummies at home with pure melatonin powder to avoid the extra sugars and dodgy additives. But now I'm wondering if even my powder is accurate lol. Has anyone else tried DIY? I use a scale that measures to 0.001g, so I think it's pretty precise.

Whoa, DIY melatonin? That's hardcore! I'm too lazy for that. But about the study, I read the abstract and it seems legit. They tested like 25 brands and found most had inconsistent dosages. That's a problem because too much melatonin can cause nightmares or grogginess. I'd say check the label and look for a USP or NSF certification. That way you know it's tested.

Good points everyone! I think the study might be a call for better regulation, not necessarily to trash all gummies. I'll definitely look for third-party testing next time. @QuartzQuinn181, thanks for the tips on certifications. Anyone have a specific brand they trust? I've been using 'DreamWell' but now I'm second-guessing.
