Hey all! I’ve been using these melatonin sleep gummies (5mg) and they work great. But sometimes I wake up still groggy. I was thinking of taking my gummy with a cup of coffee right before bed? Weird idea but I heard caffeine can help with sleep onset for some people? Is this safe? Or should I combine with something else like magnesium?

Oh hun, I wouldn’t mix caffeine with sleep gummies! Coffee is a stimulant, melatonin is a sleep hormone. They’ll just cancel each other out. Instead, try a calming herbal tea like chamomile or valerian root. Also, maybe lower your dose? 5mg is a lot. I use 1mg and it’s perfect.

I’ve actually tried this combo accidentally lol. Ate a sleep gummy and then had a late espresso. I was up all night with weird dreams. Not recommended. For grogginess, check your sleep hygiene – dark room, no screens. And maybe add a magnesium glycinate gummy an hour before bed. That’s my go-to.

Yeah, coffee + sleep gummy is a recipe for disaster. If you’re groggy, it could be the gummy itself – many have additives like sugar or artificial flavors. Try a vegan, organic brand with just melatonin and maybe some lemon balm. Also, never combine with alcohol. Stick to one supplement at a time until you know how it hits you.
