Sleep Gummies: Are we just eating candy with vitamins?

Okay, I gotta vent. I tried these new sleep gummies last night and they taste like straight-up candy. Checked the label - 5g of added sugar per serving! Isn't the whole point of supplements to be healthy? Feels like we're just candy-fying everything now. What happened to actual herbal tinctures or capsules? Am I the only one bothered by this?

PREACH. As someone on paleo, this drives me nuts. Supplements should supplement your diet, not undermine it with processed junk. Sugar before bed? That's asking for trouble with insulin spikes. I stick to magnesium glycinate capsules - no sugar, no artificial colors, just pure function. The convenience argument is weak when you're compromising health principles.

I see your point, but hear me out! As someone who grew up hating pills, gummies are a game-changer. The nostalgia factor is real - reminds me of childhood vitamins. Yes, there's some sugar, but if it gets people actually taking their supplements consistently, isn't that worth it? The dosage is usually lower to account for the format. Maybe look for stevia-sweetened options?

Marathon runner here - I need my sleep for recovery. I tried gummies but switched back to liquid melatonin. The sugar content messes with my carb counting, and honestly, the gummy texture feels wrong for something medicinal. Convenience matters when traveling, but for daily use, I'd rather take 2 seconds with a dropper than eat what feels like dessert before bed.

Thanks all! Quincy - totally agree on the insulin point. Guru - I get the nostalgia, but shouldn't health come before taste? Maybe I'll try making my own sleep tinctures with chamomile and valerian. At least then I control what's in it. Elias - liquid is a good middle ground! Anyone have brand recs for sugar-free options that actually work?
