Sleep gummies = just candy? Anyone else concerned about sugar?

I’ve been seeing so many sleep gummies with 5g+ sugar per serving. I get that people want convenience, but isn’t that just candy with extra melatonin? We’re supposed to be supplementing, not adding empty calories and spiking insulin before bed. I used to recommend magnesium or herbal teas, but now everyone wants a gummy. What’s the point of 'healthy' if it’s packed with sugar?

I get where you’re coming from, but for someone like me who works 12-hour shifts, chewing a gummy is infinitely easier than brewing tea or mixing powders. Also, not all gummies are sugar bombs – I use one with 0g sugar, sweetened with stevia. But the convenience outweighs purity for me. I don’t have time to be a purist.

Honestly, I love the taste of gummies. A little sugar before bed helps me sleep better (maybe placebo, but whatever). If it tastes good, I’ll actually take it consistently. I’d rather have a tasty gummy than choke down some bitter herb. But I do wish brands used natural sweeteners like monk fruit more. P.s. the melatonin ones are delicious.

I travel a lot and gummies are super portable. But I also avoid high sugar. There are good options out there – I found a brand with 2g sugar from tapioca syrup and adds chamomile. Not perfect, but it fits my lifestyle. I think the key is moderation and checking labels. The 'candy-fication' is real, but we can vote with our wallets.
