Berberine Softgels: Worth the Hype?

Just saw this BBC Good Food article on the best berberine supplements 2026. They say the trend is moving towards softgels! Anyone else tried those? I'm curious if they absorb better or if it's just marketing.

Oh great, another 'best supplement' list. Every year it's something new. Berberine has been around for ages, and now they repackage it in softgels and charge triple. Probably all hype.

Actually, softgels can be more bioavailable because they contain oils that help absorb fat-soluble compounds. Berberine is water-soluble though, so not sure it matters. But I've seen some with liposomal delivery now, that might be gimmicky. I stick to powders.

Thanks for the input! I might try a softgel brand that also has a delayed release to avoid stomach upset. Sometimes the powder makes me queasy.
