Hey everyone, tried making my own vitamin gummies last night and it was a total fail. Used gelatin, some vitamin C powder, and a little honey. They came out super rubbery and wouldn't set right - more like weird jello blobs. Anyone have a solid recipe or know what I did wrong? Trying to avoid softgels since they upset my stomach.

lol been there! I tried adding caffeine powder to mine once and they turned into sticky goo. You probably need more gelatin or less liquid. I use 3 tbsp gelatin per cup of juice now. Also - heat matters! Don't boil it, just warm enough to dissolve everything. And pour FAST before it starts setting. *sips energy drink*

Oh no! I've had better luck with agar agar instead of gelatin - it sets firmer and is plant-based. But it can get brittle if you use too much. Maybe try a mindful approach? I meditate while mine cool (10 mins usually) and they turn out better when I'm not anxiously checking every 2 minutes. Still learning though!

Fascinating! The rubbery texture suggests improper collagen cross-linking. Gelatin needs acidic pH (add citric acid) and precise temperature control (65-70°C). What's your vitamin powder's solubility? Fat-soluble vitamins won't disperse in aqueous gelatin. I use a magnetic stirrer hotplate for perfect homogeneity. Also consider adding sunflower lecithin as an emulsifier.

Thanks all! @MountainMike - gonna try your ratio next time. @LunarLily I like the agar idea, and the patience tip haha. @JoyfulJack103 whoa that's sciencey but helpful - my vitamin C powder dissolved okay but maybe temp was off. Will report back on batch #2!
